Day 13 - Don't Worry!

Matthew 6:31“Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. 33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.

I really feel as if God is working on us in a major way when it comes to worry. I will not lie to you I have been worrying about Levi all day long. That's the kind of concern a parent should have for their child. Is that kind of worry even okay? I don't think it is to tell you the truth. God is in control and we have to believe He will take care of Levi. That's not even the type of worry I am talking about here though. It's the worrying about everyday provisions. We must seek Him first and he promises all of those other things will be taking care of. Anjie and I spent years before he was born just saving our money to get ready to have a child. We had this idea in our heads of what his birth would be like and what we would do to provide for him. Then BAM Levi shows up 16 weeks early and throws that whole beautiful idea out the window. The issue was that it was our plan and our idea and we never even consulted God. We never even considered that it could go down any different that we had dreamed up. Now God says you must rely on me. I will show you what it is really like to be without control. Its to the point that someone we had never met showed up today with dinner for us. How incredible is that? It's a beautiful picture of God's provision. It's also a beautiful picture of his children who love him washing the feet of others. That's a whole different blog post in itself though. What about Anjie having to go on leave 16 weeks early? We have no idea how that will all work out. All we know is that right now God wants to use our family to shine His glory to the world. Thank you so much for choosing us! Why did you choose us? I have no idea but I do know that God used the most unlikely people to do his work in the bible. Those of you who know me well are probably blown away by this blog. It just proves His greatness that much more right?

Some of you probably skip right to this section to get an update on Levi. Shame on you! Just kidding...Levi is doing better today than he has been. He had to get adjustments on his vent settings because he was working to hard to breath. He has been much more stable there. He hasn't started the medicine he needs for the murmur because his urine output was too low. He seems to be getting that going better now. Hopefully he will get to that point tomorrow. If not there is a possibility he will need the surgery to shut the duct. He had another brain scan ordered to ensure there is no bleeding still in case he does need the surgery.

For my prayer warriors:

Levi - That he will not need surgery but will get medicine and the duct will close this time. That the scan shows no bleeding. That he will get no infections. That he will not swell.

Trent & Anjie - Don't worry be happy now!

Check out Levi lifting his hands to the Lord! He's ready to get out to Scottshill and worship with his brothers & sisters.

  1. You have said all that can be said Trent.Isn't it wonderful to know God knows it all, and he knows every thing we need,All we have to do is praise the Lord for what he did for us on cavalry so we should worship his son with our whole heart.God just wants us to love his son .Tell Anjie that I love her and I hope she is resting ,I send my hug and kisses to the three of you.It take a men to tell a story has Trent did.I praise God for who you and Anjie are becoming in the Lord.Because I know you two aren't going to miss a beat in teaching Levi how to be a man of God....AMEN
