I will give thanks to the Lord with my whole heart;
I will recount all of your wonderful deeds. —Psalm 9:1

Just a quick update before bed. I finally took my turn to hold Levi tonight. I did have some anxiety there seeing as he is really tiny and I am not. It was a great experience. He did well but may not have been quite as comfortable as he is on his mom. I think that is to be understood though.
Things are still kicking along around here. Levi has plenty of hurdles to overcome but he is stable so no complaints on our end. We confirmed today that his PDA has opened back up some. The doctor feels comfortable running the second course of medicine now that some time has elapsed since the first. Of course we were hoping he wouldn't need it but it has to be done. We are just waiting on his urine output to get back to normal before starting it. So far there is no swelling on his brain which is of course great news. We haven't seen any confirmation of an infection which is great news. His breathing has been a little tougher but that's due to the fluid on his lungs. We are hoping its related to the PDA and that it all clears soon. The good thing is there isn't an infection in his lungs to be seen
For my prayer warriors:
Levi - That he will not get an infection, That his lungs will clear. That he will have no swelling. That the PDA will close completely this time.
Anjie & Trent -Rest, Peace, & wisdom.

Trent you are going to make it, you will look back one day and see just how hard God has worked this out for you and Angie, you and Anjie are a team. I know you already know all of this ,sometimes it feels good to hear it from others.And rule number 1. is you have to have the love of God in order for this to work.And from what we all see Love is all around you,in what you write and when you are at work , and when you are holding little next to you and we always see the proud face of you being a daddy. Anjie has the love of God working as well for her.When you go to work and fill a little anxiety,take deep breaths but not to fast.We all as your friends and family are still with you and Anjie.And God still knows whats is going on,in your hearts .Be strong my brother ,he is always there to lift you up.
ReplyDeleteHe looks so precious laying with you like that. He continues to stay in our prayers!

ReplyDeleteTrent - I met you this past weekend when we came to visit our granddaughter, Avery Huffman, who was born October 30th at 26 weeks and weighed 1 lb 8 oz. My daughter Catherine sent me your blog address and I've just finished reading all your entries from day one. Levi has been in our daily prayers since Catherine informed us of his birth two weeks ago. Levi is traveling a road very similar to the one Avery has traveled. We can't say enough about the great NICU facility at NHRMC and the great doctors, nurses & therapists who work with all the babies there. You might find it comforting to read some of the early posts on Avery's page at carepages.com - search averytinyblessing - whenever your roller coaster ride takes a little dip and you're faced with making tough decisions concerning Levi's care. Please know that you, Anjie and Levi will continue to be in our thoughts and prayers and we will follow your daily posts. May God bless you all.
