Month 2_Day 18 - Into the Sea

Micah 7 19 He will again have compassion on us;
he will tread our iniquities underfoot.
You will cast all oure sins
into the depths of the sea.

Levi has chronic lungs from being on the ventilator for so long. As he grows the good new tissue will out weigh the bad over a long period of time. He will always probably have remnants of that. Eventually the hope is that it will not even effect him. Its hard to know right now. The neat thing is we don't have to worry about that when it comes to the good and bad in our lives. When God forgives us its for good. He tosses the bad out when we ask for it. He never brings it back to us. He never holds against us again. This is a beautiful idea to know. We cant possibly work our way into his favor. I know for me I would never make it. I am so thankful that He freely provides His grace to us.

Levi is still doing well. There was talk swirling around that he may be going to the cpap tomorrow if he continues on his progression. Lets pray that this is so. As of now he hasnt reacted adversely to any of the weening. He is still tolerating the feeding well.

For my prayer warriors

Levi - To get on the cpap. No infections. No swelling. tolerate feedings.

Month 2_Day 17 - Yawn

The Lord has done great things for us! We are glad! Psalm 126:3
We just had a great night with Levi. We were able to spend extra time with him tonight. We got to give him a bath. This meant taking his hat and mask off. He did great the whole time. He seems so much more relaxed not having the tube in. God is just so good to us. He just knows when we need a lift and gives is to us in a timely manner. I am still tired but my spirits are lifted so much now. We have a beautiful little baby boy. He seems to be fighting more and more the longer he stays here with us. He also seems more alert to us now. He will open his big eyes and stare straight into us. Of course he probably can't see far but he knows we are there with him. We are so full of joy after having that contact time with him.

I also just want to thank all of you out there. We can't even think about "thank you" cards right now. We just need you all to know you are impacting this situation in a major way. You have prayed, sent us encouragement, visited and brought gifts. It keeps us lifted up in a way I can't quite express. Please accept this as our thanks for an amazing support structure that only God Himself can orchestrate.

As I stated Levi is still doing great. His blood gases and xray were good today. They will probably ween him on something tomorrow. They will either reduce his pressures or respiritory rate. This is a slow process because we dont want to trigger a backslide. He was increased on his fortifier again so he is getting his full amount of everything. He is resting really well most of the time. He is slowly growing. He hit almost 2 lbs 3oz tonight.

For my prayer warriors

Levi - To stay off of the vent. To get to the cpap. No infections. No swelling. Eat and grow.

Month 2_Day 16 - Still Kicking Along

Psalm 27:14
Wait for the LORD; be strong and take heart and wait for the LORD

I may have used this scripture before. I just feel like this is where we are at. Just trying to stay strong. Just trying to wait on Him to deliver us from this trial. We have no idea when this will happen. We have alot more days is all we really know. We have to stay strong. We have no choice but to wait on Him.

Levi is doing very well still. He is still requiring little oxygen. He has been increased on his feeds again a little bit. He is holding his weight and slowly gaining. This is a difficult time for us. We want him to just take off and grow up enough to get out of there. It doesnt work that way though. We need a ton of patience at this point. Levi is also getting an eye exam next week. This is making me a little anxious. I just want him to have good vision.

For my prayer warriors

Levi - To stay vent. Progress to cpap. No infections. Tolerate feeding.

Month 2_Day 15 - Real Quick

Sorry for the lack of info tonight. I am worn down and the blog will not let me uplaod pictures for some reason. Levi had another great day. He didnt tolerate the formula last night so he is back on just breast milk. They took the helium off and reduced the resperitory rate a little. Levi handled it all well. I will try to get more info tomorrow.

Month 2_Day 14 - Great Weekend

1Chronicles 16:34 Oh, give thanks to the LORD, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever.

We are so thankful for a good weekend. He is so good to us. He is of course good even through the rough times. I think we just tend to not give Him the credit untill after the fact. We know that hindsight is always 20/20. He is the beginning and the end. He is the same every single day. He doesn't ever change but for some reason we dont give him that credit. We live as though His love is conditional. We live as though He only loves us when things are going well. The truth is we must learn how to recognize his love in the midst of the storm instead of after it passes. I am not saying our storms have passed. We are in a calm right now and I am overwhelmed by His love. I am just trying to give Him the praise He deserves while I am alert to it.

Levi had a great weekend. He had a few little hiccups but not anything he didnt handle. He is still plugging along. He is relaxing fairly well. He is getting weened off of the steroids. He Still has the helium right now but it will probably be weened tomorrow. The doctor is putting him on even higher calorie formula. Levi held his weight for a few days so hopefully he is on the upswing.

For My prayer warriors

Levi - Stay off the vent. No infections. Good feeding. No swelling.

Trent & Anjie - Rest

Check out Levi. He is under all of that stuff somewhere. I cant wait to see his eyes again.

Month 2_Day 13 - Still Off of the Vent

1 Peter 6(M) Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you, 7(N) casting all your anxieties on him, because(O) he cares for you.

I am very tired right now. I didnt sleep well last night due to be anxious. Levi still has a long way to go. He hasnt proved himself quite yet. This is already going way better than last time though. they should be weening him off of the helium in the morning. After that hopefully he will slowly get weened off of vent settings as he proves himself. The next big step is to switch from the non-invasive mask to cpap. Levi is still eating well. He tolerated the formula really well which should help him pack the pounds on. He seems very comfortable and is sleeping well. One more thing to add to Levi's list. He will definately need a hernia procedure before he leaves to go home. This little boy has been through more in his short lifetime then most of us ever will. It is such a blessing to know him.

For my prayer warriors

Levi - Stay off of the vent. Tolerate feedings. No infections. No swelling.

trent & ANjie - sleep & peace

Off of the Vent .- Update

I promised a update. Levi is doing great so far. His chest xray was not perfect so they increased his pressures. He is requiring low oxygen settings. He has had a couple of short episodes but nothing like last week. Please keep praying.
